Stratford has come a long way since the days when it was best known as an inaccessible industrial wasteland.
The 2012 Olympic Games, the construction of the Stratford International transport hub, and the launch of Westfield Stratford City have all helped transform a small pocket of east London into an exciting, vibrant new quarter, with homes to match. Demand is high: at Stratford Central, 95% of the 157 apartments went within four weeks of launching, even though the 31-storey tower won’t be ready for three years. Remaining apartments start from £595,000 for a one-bedroom dwelling on the 27th floor. Other new-builds include Manhattan Loft Gardens, a 42-storey tower of 248 apartments, and Glasshouse Gardens, where homes start from £450,000.
