Mortgage approvals dip

The number of mortgage approvals being made to homebuyers dipped 11% in February according to high street banks. Some 38,120 home loans got the go-ahead for house purchases, Hansen Lu, a property specialist at Capital Economics, believes a low level of transactions was being caused by high prices.
