Modular housing comes to Silvertown

The Silvertown Partnership, a £3.5bn joint venture between developer First Base and engineering concern Aecom, is planning to build 3,000 homes in east London, with a new modular factory. Permission is being sought for a construction facility at Silvertown, with the capacity to deliver 500 homes annually, with the first expected to be provided next year. Of the 3,000 homes being provided from the factory, 35% will be designated affordable. Aecom will be responsible for designing and assembling the homes on site.
