Greenland completes Hertsmere purchase

Chinese property developer Greenland Group has completed the purchase of the Hertsmere House site at West India Quay near Canary Wharf, in a deal worth £600m. Commercial Estates Group has been appointed development manager for the project, which will create up to 700 new homes in one, 242m luxury residential tower, along with ancillary retail, leisure and commercial space. Irish business man Thomas Ryan had planned to build a 75-storey residential block on the site, but the proposed deal eventually fell through.
