Savills has compiled a list of the London boroughs showing the strongest annual price growth.
Based on Land Registry data, it is topped by Waltham Forest and Tower Hamlets, where prices increased 28.1% and 17.9% in the year to June. Newham and Hackney also performed well while, at the other end of the scale, growth in Hounslow slowed to 2%. Sophie Chick, an associate in Savills’ residential research department, said the increases in what were previously seen to be lower-value locations are “probably a ripple effect out of more expensive areas”.
