Canary Wharf boss in the spotlight

Oliver Shah interviews George Iacobescu, the boss of Canary Wharf, who has spent three decades transforming the Docklands.

Mr Shah says that over the past three decades, the Romanian-born construction veteran has overseen the transformation of a patch of wasteland into a financial centre that rivals the City. They discuss new developments for the area including the Crossrail station, which, according to Mr Iacobescu will breathe new life into the site, as well as the Wood Wharf extension that will site 3,100 homes. Mr Iacobescu elaborates on his career and describes his usual working day.
