According to the Land Registry, the average price of a house in central London now stands at £1.64m up from £1.47m last year.
House prices in areas known as "prime London", including Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster, rose by 11.29% over the last 12 months, with the number of sales up 20% to the highest number since 2007.Across London as a whole, the average home is now worth £533,489, up 12% on the same time last year, according to the Land Registry's figures. In England and Wales the average house price reached £256,883 in June - up 5.9%.
