House prices in Tower Hamlets have shown the biggest increase in London asking prices in January, outstripping all other inner-city boroughs.
Prices rose by 3.6%, taking the average asking price up to £531,917; by way of contrast, Kensington saw a 6.9% drop, although the average asking price there remains high, at £2,053,440. This reflects a general trend currently in evidence across the capital, as the outer boroughs performed better than inner London: prices were up 1.8% (£7,839) in the former, and down 3.8% (£33,888) in the latter.
