The Evening Standard's David Spittles maps the property prices along London Underground's District line, which runs from east to west across London from Upminster to Ealing.
Homes in the west are typically two or three times more expensive than those on the eastern section of the line; however, areas such as Plaistow and East Ham have some of the cheapest property in the capital, and are much closer to the Square Mile, with great access to the financial district, shopping and night life at Canary Wharf.
