Lauren Thompson in the Times reports that new homes across the country are being designed to appeal to the "Bridget Jones" generation of single parents looking for crèches, playgrounds and good schools.
One industry expert comments: "Single parents need to make the logistics of life easier. For example, the length of their commute and school run. You will have less support, so your life needs to run as smoothly as possible. If you've been living in a remote area consider the benefits of living in a community, with neighbours to let the dog out or occasionally babysit."
