Newham Council has submitted plans for a 650-home development at Rathbone Market in Canning Town, to be delivered in partnership with the English Cities Fund (ECF).
Part of the council’s £3.7bn Canning Town and Custom House regeneration programme, the third phase will offer 162 privately-owned properties, spread across three blocks and ranging from one-, two- and three bed homes. Duncan Cumberland, development director for ECF, said that the final stages of the housing initiative will help to complete what he described as an "exciting and innovative" project. Offering easy access to Canary Wharf and the Isle of Dogs, the project is expected to be complete by early 2016.
