Knight Frank has found that the number of properties that would be hit by a proposed mansion tax has doubled over the last five years due to inflation in central London, with houses valued at £1.2m in 2009 now in range to pay it.
Many homes not previously "thought to be mansions in 2009, have effectively been re-designated as such", said the agent.
