Canary Wharf Group has lodged plans for a skyscraper at 1 Park Place in London's Docklands.
The company lodged an application with Tower Hamlets Council earlier this month for the demolition of existing structures and the construction of an office building up to 1.1m sq ft, designed by Squire & Partners. The plans would create a 31-storey tower with two basement levels, a ground floor level, as well as the construction of a new pedestrian link. Canary Wharf Group bought the 0.87 acres site in 2010 for £17.5m from receivers when previous owner Grattan Properties fell into financial trouble with debts of £1.3billion after the property crash.
